Baytown, Tx. – This Saturday night thousands of race fans will enjoy another exciting race at the Speedway, but for 50 very special men and women from the Houston area, it will be the beginning of a brand new chapter in their lives, as future soldiers in the United States Army.
Surrounded by their family and friends and thousands of cheering race fans, these young men and women will participate in “Future Soldier Appreciation Night” and will be sworn in as the newest enlistees of the U.S. Army. The event, sponsored by the Baytown Army Recruiting Station, will bring together members of the community to support these new soldiers who are preparing to protect the American way of life.
“I am honored to be involved in this ceremony,” said Seth Angel, Royal Purple Raceway General Manager. “Anytime we have the opportunity to recognize the commitment of new enlistees and support our newest troops, we jump on it.”
The swearing in ceremony will take place during intermission of the Texas Outlaw Fireworks ASCS Sprint Car Nationals. The Sprint Car event will also host a $20,000 firework show provided by Texas Outlaw Fireworks at 9:35pm.
